What you’ll learn
This comprehensive course will guide you through the essential principles of human anatomy, tailored specifically for artists. You’ll learn how to break down complex forms, understand structure and movement, and apply these skills to draw accurate and expressive figures. Throughout the lessons, we’ll cover bones, muscles, surface anatomy, and practical tips for sketching more confidently from imagination or reference.
I love turning complex problems into simple, beautiful, and user-friendly experiences. With a strong focus on UX/UI, I design products that not only look great but also feel effortless to use.
Curriculum
What you will learn?
1. Foundations — The Skeleton
Learn the key bones that define form and movement. • Planar landmarks & proportions • Skeleton construction • Key pose analysis • Demo: Skeleton gesture figure
2. Torso — Ribcage, Pelvis, & Landmarks
Understand how torso forms work. • Ribcage and pelvis block-in • Key bony landmarks • Torso movement mechanics • Demo: Torso block-in, movement
3. Limbs — Arms & Legs
Construction and gesture of arms and legs. • Arm and leg masses • Proportion checkpoints • Range of movement • Demo: Limb construction study

1. Skeleton — proportions, landmarks etc
You’ll learn the full proportions of the human body and how the skeleton supports every pose. We’ll study each bone and joint, identify the key landmarks visible on the surface, and practice drawing the entire skeleton in 3D from any angle.
2. Lower leg & foot anatomy
You’ll understand the structure of the lower leg — the tibia, fibula, and the foot bones. We’ll cover all the key muscles: tibialis anterior, peroneus longus & brevis, gastrocnemius, and soleus. You’ll learn how these forms move, overlap, and define the lower leg silhouette.
3. Thigh & gluteal muscles
We’ll study the femur and pelvis — learning to draw these bones accurately in perspective. Then, you’ll learn every major muscle group of the upper leg: quadriceps, adductors, and hamstrings — along with the glutes (maximus, medius) and tensor fasciae latae. By the end, you’ll be able to draw the upper leg and hip confidently from any angle.
4. Shoulders, Hips & Review
Connecting limb structures to core. • Shoulder and hip girdles • Joint articulation • Common pose problems • Demo: Shoulders-to-hips breakdown
5. Overview of Muscles
Major muscle groups that impact drawing. • Volumes and origins • Visible surface muscles • Muscle rhythm in motion • Demo: Key muscle map
6. Surface Anatomy & Forms
Making sense of surface forms in art. • Surface rhythms • Fat pads & bony overlaps • Simplifying surface anatomy • Demo: Anatomy overlay for form
4. Shoulders, Hips & Review
Connecting limb structures to core. • Shoulder and hip girdles • Joint articulation • Common pose problems • Demo: Shoulders-to-hips breakdown
5. Overview of Muscles
Major muscle groups that impact drawing. • Volumes and origins • Visible surface muscles • Muscle rhythm in motion • Demo: Key muscle map
6. Surface Anatomy & Forms
Making sense of surface forms in art. • Surface rhythms • Fat pads & bony overlaps • Simplifying surface anatomy • Demo: Anatomy overlay for form
4. Torso — front muscles & volume
You’ll learn to construct the ribcage and clavicle, understand their 3D form, and how they connect to the arms and torso. We’ll cover the pectoralis major, rectus abdominis, external oblique, and serratus anterior. You’ll learn how these muscles interact to create rhythm and structure in the front of the body.
5. Back — surface & deep muscles
You’ll study the scapula and spine — learning to draw them in 3D and in motion. Then, we’ll cover the major back muscles: trapezius, infraspinatus, rhomboids, latissimus dorsi, and erector spinae. You’ll learn how to simplify the complex forms of the back and understand how each layer moves.
6. Arm & shoulder anatomy
You’ll learn the full structure of the arm — the humerus, radius, ulna, and wrist bones (carpals) — and how they connect and rotate. We’ll cover every major muscle group: deltoid, biceps brachii, brachialis, coracobrachialis, and all three heads of the triceps. You’ll also study the flexors and extensors of the forearm, including pronator teres, brachioradialis, flexor carpi radialis & ulnaris, palmaris longus, extensor digitorum, anconeus, and the deeper layers that control wrist and finger movement. By the end, you’ll understand the full mechanics of the arm — how it twists, bends, and connects seamlessly with the shoulder and hand.
7. Head & Neck
The basics for portraiture and confident head drawing. • Skull form basics • Planes & construction • Landmarks and major muscles • Demo: Head and neck forms
8. Draw from Imagination — Putting it Together
Combine and apply everything. • Full-figure block-in • Memory drawing strategies • Bringing anatomy to sketches • Demo: Figure breakdown, demo image

7. Head & neck — construction & form
You’ll learn to simplify the skull and draw it accurately from every angle. We’ll study the main muscles of the head and neck — masseter, temporalis, sternocleidomastoid, and levator scapulae. You’ll understand how these forms define expression, movement, and the tilt of the head.
8. Draw from Imagination
In the final class, you’ll bring everything together — using simple volumes and muscle logic to draw figures completely from imagination. You’ll learn to pose, light, and construct the body freely in space, applying anatomy as a creative tool, not a limitation.
